Preventive Care under the Affordable Care Act

The Affordable Care Act includes many new measures that will improve patients' health, including the requirement that all insurance plans, including Medicare, cover many preventive services at no out of pocket cost to the patient. 

Preventive services include things like vaccinations, annual wellness visits, and mammograms.

Health Insurance Marketplaces – What are they?

You’ve probably been hearing about healthcare exchanges quite a bit in the news lately; so much in fact that it is probably confusing and overwhelming. Referred to as “Exchanges” or most recently rebranded as “Health Insurance Marketplaces”, the media coverage and attention given to these upcoming patient tools is likely to increase in 2013, so getting a basic understanding of what’s coming can be helpful whether you currently have an active insurance policy or not.
