insureUStoday.org is a collaborative effort of health care stakeholders seeking to make it easier for consumers to access the benefits of health care reform. Our goal is to help improve your understanding of the new coverage options and consumer protections put in place by the Affordable Care Act. This website and its content is maintained and supported by the Patient Advocate Foundation, the Patient Action Council and the National Patient Advocate Foundation.
Patient Advocate Foundation’s mission is to provide effective mediation and arbitration services to patients to remove obstacles to health care including medical debt crises, insurance access issues and employment issues for patients with chronic, debilitating and life-threatening illnesses. PAF case managers serve as active liaisons between the patient and their insurer, employer and/or creditors to resolve insurance, job retention and/or debt crisis matters as they relate to their diagnosis.
The Patient Action Council was established in 2008 and is a collaboration of health care professionals who now serve in leadership roles in their programs as national patient advocacy representatives. The Patient Action Council Delegates are progressive thought-leaders who are instrumental in national initiatives within seven of our nation’s foremost pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Current Patient Action Council members represent the following organizations:
Amgen Oncology Celgene Corporation GlaxoSmithKline
Lilly Oncology Novartis Oncology Pfizer Inc.
National Patient Advocate Foundation is a national non-profit that serves as the patient voice in improving access to, and reimbursement for, high-quality health care through regulatory and legislative reform at the state and federal levels. NPAF translates the experience of millions of patients who have been helped by its companion organization, Patient Advocate Foundation. InsureUStoday was developed in collaboration with the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Patient Advocate Foundation and National Patient Advocate Foundation, Nancy Davenport-Ennis who had direct involvement in content development and review of external information presented.
