Can I apply for more than one diagnosis?
At this time we assist patients for their primary diagnosis only.
What does the Patient Advocate Foundation’s Co-Pay Relief Program Assist with?
Our program provides direct co-payment assistance for pharmaceutical products to insured Americans who financially and medically qualify.
What drugs to you work with?
Our program is not drug specific. We pay on any pharmaceutical product in relation to your diagnosis as long as insurance pays for a portion of the bill.
What is a considered a “pharmaceutical” product?
Pharmaceutical products are manufactured medications such as chemotherapy, injections and pharmacy prescriptions.
Do you pay for deductibles?
Yes, as long as the amount being applied to the deductible is on a date of service that you receive pharmaceutical treatment.
Do you assist with insurance premiums?
Not at this time.
Do I need to have health insurance in order to be in your program?
In order for our program to assist you with your co-pays, you need to be insured for the dates of service that are being requested for payment.
I have health insurance but it’s not covering my treatment / medication. Can CPR still help me?
In order for our program to assist you with co-pays, insurance must pay for a portion of the bill.
Who do you make payments to?
We can set up payment with the provider of service (doctor or pharmacy) and pay them directly or we can pay you directly.
Do you assist patients through the Medicare Part D coverage gap?
Yes, until your award caps out.
Are your services free?
Yes.

Can I apply to your program by leaving a voice mail or sending an e-mail or fax?
Our program does live application via phone or online process. We do not currently accept applications through any other format.
Is there a waiting list to get into your program?
We operate on a first-come first-served basis therefore; we do not have a waiting list at anytime.
Can anyone other than the patient apply to the program?
Yes, anyone can apply to the program on the patient’s behalf however, the application must be signed by the patient.
How can I send back my application?
Our program supplies a self-addressed pre-paid 2-day priority mailing envelope with the application however; you may also have your application faxed to us at 757-952-0119.
I have a question about my application. Can someone help me?
Absolutely! Please feel free to contact us at 1-866-512-3861 M-F 8:30am – 5:00pm EST. We will put you in touch directly with the call counselor who will be processing your application.
I have just been approved into the program and have outstanding bills. Can you help me with those?
Yes, our program even has a 12 month look back period on any outstanding bills that you have incurred as part of your pharmaceutical treatment for your diagnosis.
After I’ve been approved to the program, when can I apply again for an additional award?
Our award is for a 12 month period. Should you exhaust your award before then you must wait until 12 months from your approval date to apply to the program again.
How can I get involved with patient advocacy?
You can check out http://www.patientadvocate.org/ and click on “Get Involved” and then fill out the enrollment form. Volunteers are always needed in all stated and we appreciate your interest.
Is PAF approved by the OIG?
PAF, in Advisory Opinion #04-15, was approved to provide co-pay assistance in the following 27 disease categories:
