Deborah Parham Hopson currently serves as Senior Vice President for Public Health Systems Innovation and Senior Public Health Scientist for the MayaTech Corporation, a leading national applied social science research, technical assistance, and communications company. Prior to joining MayaTech Deborah served as a Rear Admiral in the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps and senior health advisor to the Administrator of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) in the US Department of Health and Human Services. She provided expert guidance on national and global public health issues, programs, policies, and initiatives with a particular emphasis on HIV/AIDS in the U.S., Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. She also led the HIV/AIDS Bureau at HRSA where she oversaw the management of the multi-billion dollar Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program’s funds for medical care, treatment and support services for over 500,000 uninsured and underinsured people living with HIV in the United States and U.S. Territories.

Dr. Hopson is an accomplished author and has served on several national advisory panels, including the Board of Directors of the National Quality Forum, the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research, and the Advisory Committee of the Uniformed Services University Graduate School of Nursing.

Dr. Hopson has a B.S. in nursing and health from the University of Cincinnati, and both a MSPH in health policy and administration and Ph.D. in health policy and management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
